Welcome to Bedok South Secondary's Student Journalism Platform
As Head of the English Language Department of BDS, I have noticed that we have students who have a flair for writing. As such, the department started a journalism group as part of the school’s Talent Management Programme to nurture these students and hopefully, stretch them to their fullest potential. We chose to embark on journalism as it would provide us with a platform for authentic writing and thus, the idea for The BDS Voices & Visions was conceived.
Our budding student journalists have been kept busy throughout 2009 as there is always some event or other taking place in and around the school, waiting to be covered. There is never a dull moment in BDS where nothing remains static in our constantly evolving environment. 2009 has indeed been an exciting and enriching year for our journalists who have grown exponentially since we took our baby steps in journalism!
Our budding student journalists have worked hard to put together this collection of reflections and pictures in Voices & Visions, to commemorate the events the school has taken part in this year. Looking back on the past year, I can see that much has happened and how far we have progressed as one. I sincerely hope that you will enjoy exploring the site as much as I have enjoyed putting it together with the team, and smile as you relive the times we have spent together.
